Trust Me, My Mom’s a Therapist, winner of Wesleyan University’s Frank Capra Prize for Best Comedy Film, was inspired by my experiences as a hotline listener and growing up in a family of therapists and coaches. The message of this tragicomedy—one that I had to learn myself—is that authentic connection and compassion is only cultivated when you can access your own truth.
